How an engagement begins
The process is adapted to the assignment, but it is usually simple and non-committal to begin.
01 · Email
Send a short description of the product, its current development stage, and the kind of assistance you are looking for. A completed requirements specification is not necessary.
02 · Technical conversation or meeting
One or more technical conversations are used to understand the product, its main challenges, the constraints, and the desired timeline. These can take place online or in person, depending on the assignment.
The initial discussion normally requires no confidential information. An NDA can be signed before detailed documentation or source code is shared.
03 · Clarification and work breakdown
Embiox turns the discussion into a proposed scope, work breakdown, deliverables, dependencies, and next step.
For a straightforward assignment, this may provide enough information to prepare a proposal directly. Where substantial technical uncertainty remains, the next step may instead be a separate paid assessment with its own agreed scope, outcome, and price.
04 · Written proposal
Once there is a sufficient basis for a decision, Embiox prepares a written proposal covering scope, deliverables, assumptions, expected timeline, and price or pricing model.
The engagement may, for example, be a fixed-price assessment, an implementation project, consultancy billed by time spent, or an ongoing arrangement.
05 · Acceptance and start
Work begins only after the proposal has been accepted and responsibilities, practical arrangements, and expectations have been aligned. There is naturally room for questions and adjustments before you decide.
The initial dialogue and preparation of a normal proposal are generally provided without charge and do not commit you to continuing with Embiox.
If reaching a reliable proposal requires more extensive technical analysis, the framework for that work is agreed first. Depending on the assignment, the analysis may form part of the initial clarification or be handled as a separate phase. Its scope, expected outcome, and pricing are agreed before the analysis begins.
